Destroyer of Worlds
Feb. 13th, 2008 01:38 pmAfter a year of going everywhere with me and taking something like 5,000 pictures, my digital camera has become unresponsive. Well, not all of it. Just the shutter button. The paint on it had long since been worn off from constant use but now I press it and nothing happens. So sad. Mai made the comment that its a Japanese camera and it should be able to be repaired here... And yet my faith in Japan's ability to repair anything is... nonexistant. Will still try, though. I keep hearing Akane's voice echo in my head from the day it was given to me as a beautiful gift, "you better not break this". Uh... Way to go, me.
Pair that with a broken laptop and I'm the resident technology killer... Though Mai comes a close second. Megan mentioned that "disasters come in threes," so I'm anticipating a death battle between my cell phone and sewing machine sometime soon.
I sewed a dress last night out of sheer locked in boredom. Gonna add trim and make it Victorian Loli like Mary Magdaline only much more simple because the Japanese machine I'm using is a POS and lace is harder to find than cheddar cheese. I'm considering going the Nice Curtains route and buying the lace mini curtains from the home store to just go all out. Easier than tracking down a nonexistant craft store. Made a petticoat out of a futon cover and salvaged a zipper from it, too. A complete dress for about $20. Not so bad, maybe. I really missed my real sewing supplies yesterday. But it was a nice diversion. Might do so again today.
