What is this crazy thing?
Nov. 20th, 2008 02:45 pmI apparently forgot I had an LJ for about a month. Oops!
As per usual, there's not much going on. I find myself stricken with yet another cold. This makes three since returning to Iowa. I'm sick of being sick and I'm not sure what I'm doing so wrong in my daily life that has me so much more susceptible to disease now than ever before. It doesn't bother me too much, though. After all my only real responsibilities this winter are to bagel job and the one class. Still, it would be nice not to have a sore throat and the chills every few weeks.
My time has been occupied by odd things as of late. I've rediscovered the show NCIS. I was always a JAG fan when it was on TV and sort of blamed NCIS for JAG's jumping the shark toward the end. Unfairly, I believe. But, the marathons on USA got me curious about it and I find myself fascinated by it all now. I think the problem is that Gibbs and Tony are characters cut from that same dopey tough guy cloth as Dean from Supernatural. I'm developing a new fandom type! I found myself digging briefly through the fandom after making that revelation and realizing there was so much more fun to the show than I'd originally given it credit for. It doesn't hurt that NCIS's Abbey character looks like Alyssa. Or, that the Ziva character banters like an ESL (E5L?) pro with Tony.
In other news, my music hard drive crashed. One of my coworkers threw a shindig and I provided tunes. I think somebody bumped or kicked the drive and....there went 944 albums. I spent a little quality time in the school computer lab as well as with my old laptop that's been boxed away since 2006 and have now reacquired or newly acquired 691 albums so far. Of course I've only got 127 of those organized at the moment. I still feel like I'm back at square one. My pretty, organized collection! No! The organization would go much faster if my home internet wasn't the grandest POS in the city. I can barely get Gmail to load! Facebook? yeah right. LJ's touch and go.
Oh well. Thanksgiving break's coming up. I'm headed to KC on Monday afternoon. Should be fun!
