*shakes head* I'm not comfortable with making a formal dress with a neckline THAT low for a kid. It slips around. And, it becomes indecent very easily. I only say this having tried to make various dresses for Amber by her request that were based on similar drawings from children's books. It never worked and always had to be taken in or redone.

I hear you--obviously, I have no experience with this sort of thing, so I trust your judgment. Is there any sort of middle ground we could shoot for? Maybe not something that was up over the collarbone, but maybe something more like a little kid's tank top?

Is that workable? Or is that still no good?

(Also, unfortunately, I'm not local to Ruthie, either--she's the daughter of one of my friends upstate, about four hours away. I was going to have the mom, my friend, do the measurements.)
