Today was my first day back at the bagel place. I worked a short four hour shift and was rather pleased with how it all went. I only frustrated the manager of the moment once or twice. There are only a few things I can't quite remember how to make and need a refresher on. All in all, I'm happy to be back. Though, I wonder if working with junk food again will make me even fatter. I'm not sure I could handle going from 150lbs to 160lbs at my height.

I also had class as well as the first lab today. That course is really a cake walk. During the first lab section, it took longer to login than to complete the assignment. I'm not naive enough to think that pace will continue for the entire semester, but I'm glad that I've not stumbled into another unmanageable and awkwardly disorganized Quantitative and Formal Reasoning course.

Probably the dumbest thing of the day... I lost track of time. Oh, I made it to work and class on time fine. But, when I was checking the due date for the lab assignment I had a panic moment when I realized that it was already the 3rd of September. Rent was due... two days ago. Hello $30 late fee! Fantastic. When I first got this apartment, the amount due was $585. Tomorrow, I'll be handing over $668. It is all my own fault. Yet, I'm tempted to sit in a corner and pout while trying not to think of all the things those $30 could have been used for. Please. Go ahead and laugh at my pain.

Now if I can only think of more things to send in this little package for Sakie and Lee and maybe even Jane...

EDIT: The Republican National Convention coverage is quite creepy right now. They keep cutting to the VP nominee chick's little daughter holding the mentally impaired baby and using her spit to smoothing down said baby's hair while the woman is talking. She hasn't said anything too crazy yet, but I really get that Ann Coulter vibe. You know, I was starting to really respect McCain after seeing biographies of him played out on all sorts of channels and hearing him speak on foreign policy that didn't involve Iraq, but with this dumb choice of VP nominee, there's just no way. He's doing his best to fit into the negative Republican mold. How sad.

EDIT2: This is the best Daily Show in years. This is epic. This is beautiful.
