Wikileaks
Wiki that allows anonymous posting of leaked government and corporate documents, occasionally with articles on the importance and impact of said whistle blower and leaked documents.
Wired.com
The online edition of Wired Magazine. They're not the most...capable news guys in tech, but there's a lot of information and perspective is easily gained in the comments on each article.

Semi-daily digest of fandom meta posts by various bloggers. A more serious pulse on fandom than fandom secrets.

Date: 2009-04-21 05:58 am (UTC)British Citizen of Chinese decent who lived the dream of learning Japanese and successful emigration to the land of the rising sun. Very ota centric but neat insights into subculture.
ThisIsWhyYoureFat.com, where dreams become heart attacks. Featuring food that are so sickeningly delicious, it'll kill you.
4chan.org, if the internet had a mutual toxic dump, it would be here. With topics for every nerd, you'll find something to hate or loathe here.
FoodGawker.com, always puts me in the mood to cook and be experimental with my food taste. Features user submitted pics and descriptions of foods with links to recipes and stuff.
Facebook.com, I tend to dislike social sites but this one actually let's me communicate with people I know in real life and keep up.
gaijinsmash.net, the adventures of a tall, black, American living/teaching/loving in Japan. Hilarious as it is sometimes heartwarming, this personal blog/journal.

Date: 2009-04-21 06:37 pm (UTC)ThisIsWhyYoureFat.com Wah! Saw this on TV the other day. Sort of depresses me how many things people deep fry.
4chan.org *cringes* My cosplay was posted here once. I'll never go again.
FoodGawker.com Oooh.... *bookmarks*
Facebook.com XD You know me on it! But, since they "upgraded" the site, I find it less fun to use. I've spent maybe an hour on it a week since the redesign. :/
gaijinsmash.net Love this guy!!!

Date: 2009-04-21 06:49 pm (UTC)http://www.scandalist.com/ -- celebrity gossip; this was my "connection" to us pop culture while i was in china. there's a lot of stuff about celebrities, but also just random stuff including really weird or stupid "citizen's arrest."
www.puzzles.com & www.puzzlersparadise -- online puzzles; i find doing online puzzles while listening to music to be very relaxing. the first place has this really great collection of logic problems and the second features word-descrambler called "drop quotes."
